Solid Cumaru

Often called Brazilian teak, this South American hardwood is among the densest, most durable woods on Earth. Cumaru (pronounced COO-muh-roo) is likewise extraordinarily beautiful; richly hued, its prominent grain varies greatly in shade, shape and intensity, with a color ranging from deep amber to a rich chocolate-brown, often accented with the faintest hint of cherry-red. All Hatteras Outdoors cumaru comes only from managed forests.

DuraCord Rope

Truly as soft as cotton, but also many times as strong. Our three-ply DuraCord rope, precision-wound from top-quality solution-dyed synthetic yarns, promises heightened wear and weatherability, plus unbeatable colorfastness. That means that each Hatteras Outdoors rocker, chair and swing has lasting comfort and enduring good looks hand-woven right in.

We don't skimp on wood, right down to the solid cumaru pegs that our crafters use for binding the individual pieces of our incomparable furniture. That adds up to even greater hardiness and stability, a further compliment to cumaru's own superb natural weather-resistance and superior strength.
