The solid, soft-surfaced exotic-hardwood frame, highly grained and deeply hued, will likely get your attention next, if you aren’t first caught up in the unbelievably skillful, complex weave of the DuraCord® rope seat and seatback.

But it’s what you don’t at first see that may ultimately alert you to the uncanny quality of the craftsmanship and construction: Two separate curves are cut into each of the thick, solid wood pieces that make up both rear legs and chair-backs. The upper curve in particular gives the tightly woven rope seatback an arc that will leave you with the sensation not so much of sitting upright – and high upright, at that! – but of reclining instead. In short, the elevated comfort in this tall chair just kind of sneaks up on you.
