With a level of craftsmanship, quality of materials and inspiration of design so pronounced, it’s impossible to legitimately compare this impeccable outdoor chair to the standard rocker common to front porches everywhere.

The body of our Hatteras Outdoors rocker is solid, unfinished cumaru wood, right down to the pegs that connect the thick pieces. Sometimes called Brazilian teak, cumaru is among the hardest, densest, least absorbent woods on Earth, with a lovely, languid grain and a deep, shifting hue ranging from amber brown to cherry red. We use only cumaru from managed forests in South America.

Rocker arms flare widely into tapering, rounded ends you’ll find yourself unconsciously gripping every time you sit; the soft-surfaced hardwood is incredibly pleasant to the touch. The two cumaru runners have a deep, sweeping arc, for superb rocking motion.

Both chair and seatback are tightly hand-woven in an impressive thatch style from colorfast, stain-resistant, 3-ply DuraCord® rope, weather-tough and cottony soft.

We really couldn’t be any prouder to call this delightful rocker our own!
